New Stuff At A Glance (1,357 views)
It was a pretty productive weekend around here. The site went through a fairly decent sized overhaul, ushering in a newer, more streamlined design. This post will hopefully outline most of the new stuff and encourage you to start posting if you haven’t already.
What’s New
Design
First things first - A cleaned up design. I took time this weekend to overhaul the homepage, marketplace, search, and archive pages. Certain elements will be shown to logged in individuals that won’t be shown to non-registered visitors and vise-versa. I’m trying to make Wordpress as versatile and user-friendly as I can, because it is extremely important for the setup we have here to work.

User Profiles
While in the process of cleaning up many of the other pages, I also took some time to rework the Author or User Profile page. Talk about informative. The page will show your homepage url, your “about me” details, a bunch of posts you’ve made, and very shortly, contact links (if you are logged in). This is why editing your profile after you register is going to be pretty damn important, even if you are only registering to browse items. You don’t want a boring profile! Plus, the page also incorporates a link to your own RSS feed, which should be nice for all you sellers.

News and Articles
You can now grab all the latest site wide news post (such as this one) as well as articles in one location - the News and Articles center. This simple page lists excerpts of posts written so you can easily find news posts without needing to subscribe to the feed (although we still suggest it).

Backend Cleanup
Maybe not as significant to you, but for appeal’s sake the register and login screens have been redone to match the rest of the site. This just helps keep things looking more organized and connected.

Thoughts?
Please use the “Communication” area below to leave your thoughts on the changes. I know there a probably a few minor display bugs that need to be worked out (I know of one in IE7), but other than that things out shaping up quickly. I’d appreciate your sincere feedback. Thanks!
