Tons of changes - Auction features, subscriptions, new categories and more! (836 views)
Well, after many weeks of work, we’ve added a whole bunch of new features to WebUnload and added NEW categories for your listings. Lets start off with the additional features…
Auctions Settings
Now when you go to post a listing you can add pricing options such as “Starting Bid” and “Buy It Now” to let your potential buyers know what you’re looking to get for your item. We thought this was a vital missing feature and that pie piece has now been filled (boy it feels good). In addition, adding Payment Methods and Auction Status is available too. Let us know if you want more.
Enhanced Communication
Two new features have been added to improved communication between buyers and sellers. One - when going to leave a comment/bid, buyers and other users now have the ability to leave “Private Comments” that can only seen by the seller of the item. This allows them not only to leave private bids, but also leave contact information or a remark that should be hidden from the rest of the community. Two - buyers can now subscribe to your listings and receive notifications of new bids and comments via email. In addition to that, sellers will be able to manage the subscriptions which includes removing and blocking users as they see fit.
Speedy Registration/Login
Registration is now speedier and easier than most of the website you’ve ever been to! Using PrefPass.com, registration for new users can be done using logins they already have at popular sites such as Facebook, Yahoo, AOL, and the raving Open ID system. Simply choosing a username and entering an email is all that is required to register and login. You can learn more about PrefPass’s security and features over at www.prefpass.com. We are experimenting with this and would love to know what you think or if you encounter any problems.
Quick Listing and Member Management
It’s now WAY easier to list items, moderate comments, and logout due to that new navigation bar at the top when you logged in today. You’ve probably seen it before if you’ve ever blogged over at Wordpress.com, because it’s the same interface. We hope you like it.
Graphics
As you older members may have noticed, we have added an intro graphic to the font page and rewrote the text introduction to the right after receiving feedback that some users didn’t know what the site was about upon initially looking at it. If you’re wondering what the heck that ugly looking dog is in the image, it’s actually a donkey (yeah, thanks!). Sometime in these next months we have plans to redo the site’s theme entirely and/or allow YOU to choose your preferred look of WebUnload.
Premium Add-ons
Want your listings to get more views and make more bucks? Get your listings “Sticked” at the top of your category, or perhaps even add your listing to the Featured section on the homepage with limited spots available! New features have been given to our Big Sellers this week. Introducing… Avatars!!! Saweet. All Big Sellers can get their own avatar which will be displayed when making comments/bids and on their profile page. Big Seller’s listings will also now receive a bold like frame around their listings to make them stand out.

Not to be modest, but we didn’t list everything. There have been some small backend changes, UI improvements, and bits here and there to make everything simpler and easier for everyone. The new categories that have been added are a Gaming Accounts section where you can list gold/items also and our new Job/Services board to easily list services wanted or that you can provide (no spam, buddy). The categories in which you can list your items is likely to expand further in order to focus our market as a premier place to list ALL kinds of digital goods and services, and we would love your feedback on it.
